"Bonhomme Setter have created a remarkable big band sound wrapped around some very traditional tunes. Their big arrangements pack quite a punch ; all of the instrumental tracks have this powerful percussive beat with some really imaginative arrangements. You get a clever, entertaining and extremely well delivered album of traditional music with a very modern edge. Highly recommended."
Night falls, the sky is dark. In the streets of a Quebec village, the Bonhomme Sept-Heures walks and hides himself… A little further on, in an English neighbourhood, we hear terrible cries caused by the Bone Setter...
Bonhomme Setter & Ozéta Productions present the new album"Obia".
Bonhomme Setter is a musical line-up which has been evolving in Quebec City since 1998. Previously associated with Irish musical traditions and culture, today the group blends Celtic music with the diverse rhythms of the world. The flute player and founding member, Sylvain Laberge, is now joined by Marie-Noëlle Harvey (violin, viola), Marie-Pier Gagné (cello) and Stephane Desbiens (guitar).
Today, Bonhomme Setter blends Celtic music with the diverse rhythms of the world: Spain, Ireland, Scotland and the Middle-East flow together in warm, festive compositions, in tasteful and authentic music which will transport you to the world of four passionate musicians.
